Art Collector
Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo graduated in economics and commerce and first came to contemporary art as a collector in the early ‘90s. Her passion for art was transformed into an organized activity when, in 1995, she founded the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, of which she is president. In 2017, she founded Fundación Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Madrid.
She is a member of the International Council of MoMA in New York and the Tate in London; the Leadership Council of the New Museum, New York; the Advisory Committee for Modern and Contemporary Art of the Philadelphia Museum of Art; the Conseil d'Administration de l'École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon; the Committee of Art Basel Cities; the Board of Governors of the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, New York; and the Advisory Committee of the Rockbund Art Museum, Shanghai.
In Italy, she has been a member of the National Confindustria Culture Commission since 2008 and served as president of the Contemporary Art Foundations Committee since 2014. She has also served as president of the IEO-CCM Foundation, the European Institute of Oncology and the Monzino Cardiology Center. She has also been teaching art market theory at the IULM University in Milan since 2015.
She is the recipient of several prizes and prestigious honors, including Officer of the Italian Republic in 2005, Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres awarded by the French Republic in 2009 and the 2019 Leo Award by Independent Curators International. In 2020, she was nominated as an ambassador of excellence for the city of Turin.
