Olga Kefalogianni

Minister of Tourism, Greece

Born in Athens in 1975, Olga Kefalogianni currently serves as the Greek minister of tourism, a role she previously held from 2012 to 2015.

She is a graduate of the School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds postgraduate degrees from King’s College London and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Boston. She has worked in large law firms in Athens and New York, as well as in the Directorate General for Legal Service of the European Commission in Brussels.

From 2004 to 2006, she was a legal adviser to Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis. She was subsequently elected as a member of Parliament for Rethymno and, later, for the Athens A constituency.

She has also served as head of the Greek parliamentary delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union and as ambassador of the Greek Parliament to the Women Political Leaders network. She has also served on myriad parliamentary committees and is chair of the board of the European Public Law Organization's Center for Policy Studies on Gender and Equality.

She is married to composer Minos Matsas and they have two children.
