Nicola Ricciardi

Artistic Director, Miart

Born in Milan in 1985, Nicola Ricciardi is a curator, author and cultural manager based in Bergamo, Italy.

Since 2020, he has served as artistic director of Miart, the international modern and contemporary art fair in Milan. Prior to this, he was the artistic director of OGR – Officine Grandi Riparazioni – in Turin, where he organized over 20 exhibitions, including solo shows by Tino Sehgal, Susan Hiller, Mike Nelson, Monica Bonvicini and Trevor Paglen, to name a few, alongside over 70 concerts by international artists such as Kraftwerk, New Order + Liam Gillick, Kamasi Washington, Jason Moran and Holly Herndon, as well as numerous music and film festivals. 

He is the co-curator of an upcoming Robert Rauschenberg exhibition at Museo del Novecento in Milan. Over the past 10 years, he has curated numerous exhibitions in Italy including, “John Giorno: A Labour of LOVE” at Triennale Milano; “David Horvitz: Abbandonare il Locale” at BiM, Milan; “Christian Frosi: The Empty Room” at GAMeC, Bergamo; and “Vogliamo Tutto: Cultural Practices and Labour” at OGR, Turin.

Mr. Ricciardi is also the author of several publications and critical texts. Since 2020, he has been teaching regularly at NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, in Milan and at the Accademia di Belle Arti G. Carrara in Bergamo. He holds a master’s degree in curatorial studies from Bard College, New York, where he graduated with a thesis exhibition on Matthew Barney.
