Adama Sanneh brings a unique hybrid background in management and cultural studies to his work designing and leading creative institutions focused on generating a more equal, just and free society. Under his leadership, Moleskine Foundation has been building educational tools and experiences that help foster critical thinking, creative doing and lifelong learning, focusing on youth and underserved communities.
Mr. Sanneh grew up in Monza, Italy, and graduated in linguistic and cultural mediation from the University of Milan. He also obtained a Master of Public Management degree from the Bocconi School of Management and an M.B.A. from the University of Geneva. He worked for several years in East Africa on rural development and humanitarian emergency programs and in social innovation with the United Nations. He currently sits on the advisory boards of the British Council Italy, BrandAfrica and Opera Futura.
He is a public speaker, writer and curator of cultural programming, covering creative leadership, racial equity and education, among other areas. His efforts lie in exploring and leveraging the intersection of creativity, culture and social change to carve out spaces for dialogue and imagination. He has featured in Vogue, The Atlantic’s Fellows for Racial Equity, Wanted magazine and TEDx.
